Position Overview

Help keep our rail network running as Rail Signal Maintainer in New York. You will inspect, maintain and repair trains, track and signalling systems to keep passengers and freight moving safely. Rail workers from any country are warmly welcomed, with training and support provided. Annual salary: USD 45,000 – 70,000 per year (plus overtime and allowances).

Role Description

• Inspect, maintain and repair trains, track or signalling equipment.
• Carry out scheduled servicing and respond to breakdowns quickly.
• Read and follow technical manuals, drawings and work instructions.
• Use tools and testing equipment safely and accurately.
• Complete maintenance records, inspection reports and defect logs.
• Work safely around rail corridors, plant and moving trains.
• Coordinate with supervisors, drivers and control staff.
• Follow all rail safety rules and emergency procedures.

Requirements & Skills

• Relevant trade or technical qualification, or strong practical experience.
• Experience in rail, mechanical, electrical or heavy maintenance work.
• Ability to read technical drawings and use testing equipment.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Basic English communication skills; free language support is available.
• A strong safety record and attention to detail.
• Internationally recognised qualifications and practical experience are warmly welcomed, whatever your country of origin.

Education & Qualifications

• Trade certificate or technical diploma in a relevant discipline.
