Position Overview

Lead one of our flagship construction or infrastructure projects as Project Director in Melbourne. You will own the full delivery lifecycle, build strong client relationships and create a safe, high-performing project culture. We welcome proven leaders from around the world and will support your relocation. Annual salary: USD 180,000 – 260,000 per year (plus overtime and allowances).

Role Description

• Take overall responsibility for the project from award through to handover, including safety, quality, budget and schedule.
• Lead and mentor the project leadership team, setting clear expectations and a strong safety-first culture.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, government bodies, partners and local communities.
• Own the project budget and commercial strategy, including contracts, claims and risk management.
• Drive on-time delivery by resolving critical issues and removing blockers across the project.
• Report project performance to the executive team with clear, honest and timely updates.
• Champion diversity and inclusion, helping international team members settle in and succeed.
• Support business development and tender submissions for future opportunities.

Requirements & Skills

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (typically 8–15 years) in large-scale construction and infrastructure delivery.
• Strong commercial acumen, including contract strategy, claims and budget control.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at senior government and client level.
• Formal project management certification such as PMP or Prince2 is highly regarded.
• A genuine commitment to safety, quality and environmental excellence.
• Internationally recognised qualifications and practical experience are warmly welcomed, whatever your country of origin.

Education & Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Business Administration (MBA).
• Professional registration, chartered status or relevant certifications and licences are highly regarded.
• International qualifications are recognised.
